2021 UCLA Block Party Fire - Annual tradition at the start of the school year to gather everything both flammable and not and set it on fire. Electric scooters and plastic garbage cans turned out to be not flammable nor good for the lungs. Featuring the LA Fire Department. Video of the LAFD extinguishing the fire.

2020 Demolition and Construction on Glen Drive - These houses in Coquitlam predate the high-rises and SkyTrain station that sprang up around them in the 2010s. They had been abandoned and boarded-up for years before finally being demolished for redevelopment. Simultaneously, a new high-rise was being constructed right across the street. The houses are pictured here mid-demolition and the foundation of the high-rise mid-construction using, unfortunately, my iPhone SE.

2021 Mulholland Drive - The iconic Mulholland Drive in Los Angeles turns out to be not very fun nor safe to walk on at night. I recommend bringing a car.

2019 Canada Day - A large singing mob formed in the aftermath of the Canada Day fireworks in Downtown Vancouver, seemingly following a man in a pikachu costume with a speaker and a large LED flagpole. They marched to the Pink Alley and proceeded to have a sort of spontaneous outdoor dance party. Shaky video of what that looked like.

2020 Henderson Place - The Coquitlam shopping mall and apartment building that was once an oasis for Cantonese-speaking diaspora in Coquitlam after the handover of Hong Kong. Pictured here 20 years later in the midst of COVID-19 lockdown measures.
